Installation, backups and approved device sync.

Install the right app

Use the downloads page. macOS uses a DMG: Apple silicon for M-series Macs and Intel for Intel Macs. Windows uses an x64 EXE installer. Android uses an APK for direct installation. A source ZIP is a developer project, not an iPhone app. Apple App Store and Google Play publication are pending.

Forgotten passphrase

There is no recovery server or master-passphrase reset. Try an encrypted backup only if you remember the passphrase that unlocks it. Maneuler cannot decrypt your vault for you.

Move to another device

Export an encrypted KDBX backup and import it on the other device, or use Trusted devices in compatible native apps. Keep the main desktop open and unlocked, start Wi-Fi sync, and create an invitation. Paste it on the receiving device, compare the six-digit code and approve it on the desktop. Android requires a screen lock before storing pairing credentials.

A device cannot connect

Check that both native apps are on the same private Wi-Fi subnet. Guest-network isolation, VPNs, firewall settings or a changed desktop address can interrupt pairing. Invitations expire after five minutes. The browser, CLI and developer extensions do not participate in native Wi-Fi sync. Do not disable certificate checks or expose the sync port to the internet.

Protect an existing vault

Export a KDBX backup before installing a new version or replacing a copy. Save workspace pages before locking the app. Edits still in memory are discarded on lock. Sync replaces a complete copy after review. Use Trusted devices → View local backups to review and restore a native recovery copy.
