Leave without losing your way back.

Begin with a backup in your current manager’s supported format. Make an inventory of logins, cards, secure notes, attachments, passkeys and shared items. A CSV may not contain all of them.

Use the provider’s official export flow on a trusted machine. Keep plaintext exports away from shared folders, email and online conversion tools. Import a small sample locally, compare fields and test a login before processing the rest.

Vault’s current destination format is uncompressed password-only Argon2id KDBX4. Use the migration guide for the KeePassXC intermediate step. Keep passkeys and unsupported fields in a supported manager until you have a verified migration path. Do not delete the original account or vault merely because an import dialog completed.

After verification, remove temporary plaintext files and review any cloud backups that may have copied them. Keep at least one encrypted recovery copy you know how to unlock.
